Solar draws heat from the Sun and is collected on a flat sheet of copper aluminium. Attached to the sheet of copper or aluminium are copper pipes that water from the storage tank flows through and absorb the heat from the copper or aluminium sheet making the water hot. The sheet and pipes are enclosed in a metal envelope with a sheet of glass over the top. This acts like a greenhouse trapping the air inside.

Is it raining or has it been raining? If so, put a bucket under it to limit the water damage that’s the first thing to do. Next move any furniture, or electrical equipment away so it doesn’t get damaged.

Grease traps are seldom used these days but if you have one it’s probably connected to a septic tank.

Trap has baffles in it which can be removed to allow you to bail out the trap and scrap the walls down but it’s a very messy and very smelly job so you may want to call a specialist Grease Trap Cleaner. Once it’s been cleaned, a once a week application of an enzyme-based product will eat up the grease and take away the odour.

In some cases, we can remove the grease arrestor (trap) and get rid of the problem altogether.
